Morning Intention Setting

Begin your day with clarity and purpose

3-5 minutes

How you begin your morning sets the tone for everything that follows. This practice takes just a few minutes but creates a powerful inner anchor that carries you through the day. Instead of reaching for your phone the moment you wake, you reach inward first.

1

Arrive in the Body

Before you get out of bed, take three slow, deep breaths. Inhale through your nose for 4 counts. Hold for 2 counts. Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts. Feel the weight of your body. Feel where you are supported. You are here. This is a new day.

2

Express Gratitude

With your eyes still closed, bring to mind three things you are genuinely grateful for right now. They don't need to be grand. A warm bed. Someone you love. The fact that you woke up. Let each one land in your chest. Feel it, don't just think it.

3

Set Your Intention

Ask yourself gently: "Who do I want to be today?" Not what do I need to accomplish — but who do I want to be. Perhaps: Present. Patient. Brave. Open. Kind. Choose one word or one quality. Hold it in your mind like a seed you're planting.

4

Seal It In

Take one final deep breath. As you exhale, whisper or silently say: "Today, I choose ___." Now open your eyes and carry that intention with you into the day.
